"As a child I was fascinated by line art drawing and my sister and I created our own
paper dolls with their own clothing line. I personally specialized in landscape
drawing. My competitive spirit was captured when I won an award as an 11 year old for a
charcoal landscape drawing. I began painting in oils as a young mom and have been
productive in spurts: ten paintings one year, two the next. My paintings are in private collections in Oregon,
Nevada, North Carolina and California. I became interested in ceramics about fifteen
years ago, concentrating on low-fire hand-coiled, incised (hand carved) ceremonial
pots. Recently, since Bob began throwing pots also, we have teamed up:
Bob throws the larger pots and I create the incised designs and do the carving. The
palm sized ceremonial pots are still my personal favorites." |
